Three Oceans Tipi Camp Fundraiser – Kootenay Adventure Photographer and Author to present in Crawford Bay May 17th.
Kimberley-based wildlife biologist, wilderness guide, author, and adventure photographer Dave Quinn has spent over fifteen years exploring and advocating for the last wild reaches of the Kootenays and beyond. His work explores and celebrates the connections between humanity and wilderness. His writing and photography has appeared in BC Magazine, Explore, Westworld, Backcountry, Adventure Kayak, as well as in Patagonia and MEC catalogs, and his talks have packed rooms across Western Canada.
Join Dave on May 17th at Crawford Bay School for Three Oceans, an evening of captivating images and gripping tales from over a decade of sea kayaking some of the world’s most remote, rugged, and wild coastlines.
In Three Oceans, Quinn takes viewers on a rollicking journey. From the frigid, iceberg-choked Arctic waters, to the pounding, relentless surf of our wild Pacific Coast, and finally to the marine biologist’s dream: sharing the waves with sea lions, elephant seals, penguins, and whales along the Patagonian Atlantic Coast of Argentina.
Rub shoulders with the world’s third largest creatures, southern right whales; crane your neck to take in Greenland’s towering fjords and kilometers of tidewater glaciers; and experience the mystique of Haida Gwaii, the Hakai, and our own Great Bear Raincoast – all from the cockpit of a sea kayak, and all without even leaving Crawford Bay.
This event is a benefit for Tipi Camp and the Guiding Hands Recreation Society.
Admission is by donation. Monday May 17th, 7:00pm, Crawford Bay School.
